Thermal disc dryers, also called disc-type dryers, use a series of rotating discs mounted on a central shaft. These discs are heated internally with steam, hot oil, or other thermal fluids. Product flows through the dryer, contacting the heated disc surfaces to efficiently transfer heat and evaporate moisture. This indirect heat transfer method protects the product from direct contact with combustion gases, making it ideal for heat-sensitive materials.
